Tyler Casey Featured in “Nostalgia & Noise” Publication

Tyler Casey was interviewed for notable art publication, Nostalgia & Noise, in May 2025. The artist gave an interview discussing his views on the art world at large. Casey also discussed the recent completion of his 20,000 sq foot mural at a hospital in Juitepec, Mexico.

“I think most great artists did not believe they had some huge, meaningful impact behind what they were doing, they just did it. Andy Warhol said he did the silk screen prints and copied soup cans because it was just easier.” “I know I could sit down and learn how to draw better but I don’t think that would help me accomplish what I am trying to do. It’s not really related to skill at all. I guess most of the art I like isn’t either. I think almost anyone can learn a skill. It just takes time but there are many people who can learn a skill. That does not necessarily say anything to me.” (-Tyler Casey)

“I was in Mexico in March finishing a gigantic mural for a new hospital in a small town south of Mexico City called Juitepec. For the entirety of the project, I was there for about 4 months total but the actual painting of the mural took between 20-25 days. My son was involved with the building of the hospital so he got me involved as well. I was given full creative control.” “I started out with the idea of typical things to the state of Morelos (the name of the state the hospital is in) and by the end, kind of expanded to Mexico in general.” (-Tyler Casey)
